Every day around lunch time, schedule 3-5 minutes to press your internal pause button. Find a place where the environmental stimuli
is minimal and focus on your breathing. If it is comfortable and safe to, you can also close your eyes and begin to focus on your breathing. Draw your attention to the natural rise and fall of chest as you breathe. The simple act of focusing on your breathing, will cause your breath to slow and to deepen which will activate your parasympathetic nervous system and relax your mind and body.
If your thoughts wander or race at first, know that is a normal response. When this happens, just refocus on your breathing. With time and practice this simple pause in your day can make a major difference in your quality of life by helping you manage stress naturally!
